As I grow older and wrinklier make up seems to become more and more essential. and there is little more essential to hiding imperfections than base. A member of the paler race I find it difficult to find a good pale base that does not sit in my pores and lines, make me look like I recieved an instant tan or worse was playing in the mud!
after much testing and saving I am thrilled with my new base from kanebo. it is a natural pale colour not too pink or too yellow and goes on smoothly creating a perfect new me. NOw I am hunting for a new mascara.
my new base/foundation
Tested so far: Clarins wonder perfect – seems to be irritating my eyes already, but really legnthened my lashes
Clinique (damn for got the name) nice but a little on the thin side – no noticible irritation (as in a need to rub my eyes constantly)
Este Lauder: out in front at the moment , as I returned home my darling husband noticed immediately that I was looking good. and no noticible irritation.
….. will test some more soon.
now my gripe for the day why do mascara’s come in such large tubes if we need to replace them every 3/6 months? I am sure I dont use much less than the average person but I find one tube lasts me way longer than 6 months. And I hate having to throw away such expensive stuff cause it has gotten old and I have discovered old mascara is more likely to make me rub and land up looking like a panda bear.
I have a whole lot to say about this I am wheat intolerant and I know a lot of people don’t believe in it but I know it makes me uncomfortable. But my real problem is my twin boys who were born prem and maybe that is why they can’t eat wheat. But all I know following a wheat meal they have such cramps they can’t sleep. It makes life tough though. Why can’t more restaurants make wheat free versions of kids favorites?? I am thrilled that fish fingers now come with a potato batter version. The boys love them. Not too sure about the tomato and cheese flavours though.
So I have been trawling the sales – despite my lack of cash. One of my new years resolutions is to buy nice gifts on sale rather than for full price. So to this end I have snapped up a few pretty things already. It is difficult to feel confident though that what you have chosen is worth it as these things are on sale cause no one wanted them. But for a change I am using as a guide what I ended up buying as last minute gifts for family which sometimes was pretty but random things.
I think christmas decorations are a nice extra gift for new families at christmas as it is expensive to kit out your tree nicely these days. And on sale they are even better.
Some shops have had better sales so far than others, Woolworths is usually good with christmas treats but I am still waiting for them to come down signficantly as I feel R10 on a christmas cake of R70 is too little to entice me to buy for now.
At home has nice christmass things on sale but not so cheap that with my limited budget I can go mad. but I got some gorgeous blue birds that will double as more than just christmass decorations. I think I should go back and get more as I will have a hard time giving these up.
Mr price things went on sale even before christmas so not too much left.
I am planning on decorating my house this year – I have decided (due to my again limited budget ) to focus on 3 rooms, mine, my boys and our patio. The boys room will be done with a vintage cars theme. Mine in a warm green to go with our floral quilt (sorry Darling husband) and the patio I think I have decided on mirrors and white to bring as much light in as possible.
So I am hoping that now I have decided when I see the right things on sale I can buy them then rather than at full price. But I did just buy the most gorgeous cushions from Mr price for the boys.
I have increasingly felt that others out there must feel like I do or have some answers to my questions. So I have decided to join the blogging fraternity. my new years resolution is to try to keep up to date with my blog. I have only just realised how many people blog cause my choice of username was no 5! and it is a zulu endearment perhaps that was the problem.
